This page provides general care and safety guidance for SŌVA essential oils, fragrance blends, diffusers, nebulizers and related accessories. Always read and follow the product page, label, packaging and device manual supplied with your specific item. Product-specific instructions take priority over this general guidance.
Essential oils and fragrance blends
- Use each product only for its stated purpose and only with compatible devices or applications.
- Do not ingest. Do not apply a product to skin unless it is specifically labelled and directed for topical use.
- Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and broken or sensitive skin. Wash hands after handling concentrated oils and clean spills promptly.
- Keep bottles tightly closed and away from children, pets, food, open flames, sparks, heat and direct sunlight.
- Use fragrance products in a reasonably ventilated space. Begin with a lower intensity or shorter operating period and increase only as appropriate.
- Oils and fragrance materials may stain or affect painted, polished, porous, plastic, fabric or natural-stone surfaces. Place bottles and devices on a stable, protected surface.
- Stop use and ventilate the space if anyone experiences unexpected discomfort or irritation.
Children, pets and individual sensitivities
Suitability depends on the ingredients, concentration, exposure, ventilation and individual circumstances. If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or allergy, are using the product around children, or have questions about use around an animal, seek advice from an appropriately qualified medical or veterinary professional before use.
Never allow children or pets to handle bottles, cords or operating devices. Position products where they cannot be knocked over or accessed.
Diffusers and nebulizers
- Use only the power adapter, cable, vessel and liquids specified for the device.
- Place the device upright on a dry, stable and level surface with adequate clearance around it.
- Do not overfill, move or tilt a device while it contains liquid or is operating.
- Do not add water to a waterless nebulizer, and do not use concentrated oil in a device that is not designed for it.
- Keep ventilation openings clear. Do not operate a device beneath enclosed shelving or beside materials that may be affected by moisture or fragrance residue.
- Switch off and unplug the device before filling, emptying or cleaning it. Do not immerse the motor, base, plug or electrical parts in water.
- Clean the device at the intervals and by the method stated in its manual. Residue may affect performance or damage the device.
- Stop use and unplug the device if it leaks, is damaged, produces smoke or an unusual smell, becomes abnormally hot or operates unexpectedly. Do not dismantle or attempt an unauthorised repair.
Storage and shelf care
- Store oils and fragrance products upright in their original containers, tightly closed, in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Do not use a product if the container is leaking, damaged or contaminated.
- Follow any batch, best-before or period-after-opening information shown on the product.
- Dispose of products, batteries, electrical components and packaging in accordance with applicable local requirements. Do not pour concentrated oils into drains or waterways.
Spills and accidental exposure
For a small spill, ventilate the area, keep children and pets away, absorb the material using suitable disposable material and clean the surface in accordance with its care requirements. Avoid spreading concentrated oil with bare hands.
For accidental ingestion, significant eye or skin exposure, breathing difficulty or another urgent reaction, stop use and seek prompt medical advice. Bring the product label or ingredient information where possible.
